Access and navigation
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where are account settings? | ModFlow does not expose a public account-settings page. Discord provides your sign-in identity; ModFlow server settings live under the selected server for authorized server staff. |
| Where is the notification center? | There is no universal notification center. Use the supported Discord queues, panels, dashboard work lists, and the owning record's current state. |
| Why can I select a server but not open a page? | Server membership, runtime access, page permission, record visibility, and action authority are separate checks. |
Records, imports, and saved roles
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I upload any file through Imports? | No. Imports reconcile supported external moderation records; they are not a general file-upload tool. |
| Will every role return after unjail? | No. Saved-role restoration cannot assign roles that were deleted, are managed, sit above ModFlow's role, or are otherwise no longer assignable. |
| Does a missing attachment mean the case never had evidence? | No. Source messages and local files can become unavailable. Use provenance and the remaining visible record, and state the gap explicitly. |
Plans, transcripts, and feature status
Transcript and plan access follows each page's separate audience, availability, and maturity labels plus the selected server's current access checks. A screenshot, command name, or visible navigation item does not override those labels.
When to troubleshoot or escalate
Start with Troubleshooting when a documented feature is missing, denied, stale, or uncertain. Escalate only after preserving the selected server, route or command, record identifier, visible status, time, and safe reproduction steps; never include tokens, private evidence, or unnecessary personal data.
Moderation action questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does /warn mute the member? | No. It records a formal warning and Case/history. Use /mute only when a timeout is the human-decided response. |
| How long can a Discord timeout last? | The /mute command documents a maximum of 28 days. Use current autocomplete and verify the expiry. |
| Can I change a mute without removing it? | Yes. Use /extendmute with add or total, or /reducemute with subtract or total. Do not submit both duration modes. |
| What does /undo reverse? | Your most recent still-effective mute, jail, or ban for the selected member. It does not erase warnings or arbitrary history. |
| Does /unban restore membership or roles? | No. It removes the server ban for the numeric user ID. The user must rejoin normally and receives no automatic old-role restoration. |
| Why did /ban delete more messages than expected? | The optional purge_days field defaults to seven when omitted. Review the completed command options before submission. |
| Can I retry a failed command immediately? | Check current Discord state and the stored action/execution first. A client response can fail after the action completed. |
| How does mass action handle failures? | It processes each valid target independently, up to 50. Review per-target success/failure and retry only verified failures. |
Case, evidence, appeal, and review questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Is a Case number global? | No. Case numbers are human-facing and allocated per server. Use server ID plus Case number, or internal Case ID, in handoffs. |
| Can everyone who sees a Case see all evidence? | No. Case, evidence, source-channel, and file access are separate checks. Evidence can be senior-only or unavailable. |
| What is the best way to preserve a Discord message? | Use the message Apps menu so source message identity, channel, author, timestamp, and visibility checks stay attached. |
| Does approving an appeal reverse the punishment? | Not necessarily. The decision and the separate reversal execution must both be verified. |
| Does approving Ban Review ban the member? | No. Approval creates an approved/pending execution state; an authorized executor must apply the selected action. |
| Can I copy senior-only evidence into a general comment? | No. Handoff the Case to an authorized reviewer and preserve the evidence visibility boundary. |
| What if a source message or local file is gone? | Record it as unavailable, preserve provenance, and continue only with verified remaining evidence. Do not recreate it from an unauthorized copy. |
People, data, analytics, and export questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Is a user profile a global dossier? | No. It is selected-server, permission-limited context and may omit hidden, expired, off-platform, or other-server information. |
| Where do voice joins or stream events appear? | Activity, not the Moderation Log. Activity stores allowlisted metadata rather than ordinary content. |
| How long is Activity kept? | The documented default window is 180 days, subject to collection and coverage gaps. |
| Are imported records native ModFlow evidence? | No. They are source-labeled supplemental observations that require provenance and confidence review. |
| Can Imports accept any file? | No. It is a configured supported Discord source reconciliation workflow, not arbitrary file ingestion. |
| Does analytics decide who should be punished? | No. Counts, trends, and deterministic risk aids require human source-record review. |
| Can I send an export to anyone who asks? | No. Exports retain the same sensitivity as the dashboard data and must remain within authorized purpose, audience, storage, and retention. |
| Where are changing analysis or performance features documented? | Their future locations appear as labels in Reserved guides. Basic /modhistory, /modstats, records, and Cases remain the documented review tools. |
Administration and access questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Why does Discord Administrator not open every page? | Dashboard entry, page permission, record visibility, feature access, and action authority remain independent checks. |
| What does /admin setup cover? | The guided path always covers Jail foundations and staff access. Watchlist and Ban Review are optional and remain unchanged unless selected. |
| Does a green Health check certify production readiness? | No. It means the implemented selected-server prerequisites passed at that time. |
| Where are deployment and database instructions? | They are intentionally outside moderator/server-admin documentation. This is not a self-hosting guide. |
| Can server admins manage every mutual server? | No. Every dashboard and record is scoped to one selected server; generic multi-server controls remain excluded. |
| Are changing historical-import commands documented? | No. Their future locations appear as labels in Reserved guides while the workflow is incomplete. |
| What should a support request include? | Server ID, page/command, record/job ID, visible status, time, and safe reproduction—never credentials, private evidence, transcripts, or payment data. |
Questions about newer workflows
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Is MIRA available? | No general-availability claim is made. It is coming soon and remains default-disabled behind legal, provider, plan, budget, and permission gates. |
| Does an enabled Automation Rule run? | Not in the confirmed implementation. The current surface stores configuration only. |
| Where do dashboard messages go? | Jail replies go to the active Discord Jail channel; appeal replies are Discord DMs; appeal internal notes stay staff-only. |
| Does logging capture everything? | No. Routes, defaults, intents, permissions, Discord audit logs, caches, API availability, and truncation affect coverage. |
| Is a Watchlist alert proof? | No. An alert is a review item. Staff must inspect the authorized source and can close it as a false positive. |
