Saved configurations, not live automation

Automation Rules currently saves rule definitions in the dashboard. It does not evaluate live events, issue recommendations, or apply moderation actions. Use this page to review configurations, not to monitor incidents.

Check the rule settings and access

Open Automation Rules in the selected server dashboard to create, edit, enable, or disable stored configurations.

  • Permission to manage rules for the selected server.
  • A configuration to save or review.
  • A separate active moderation workflow for any immediate incident.

Create and save a rule configuration

  1. Choose a configuration

Select a template or enter the trigger and conditions you want to store.

Check: The draft contains the intended trigger, conditions, and action settings.

  2. Review the fields

Check the rule name, conditions, and proposed response before saving.

Check: The saved definition matches what you entered.

  3. Save the rule

Save your configuration, then reopen it to confirm the stored values.

Check: The configuration is available for editing; no event processing starts.

  4. Use live moderation separately

For an active incident, use the existing case or moderation tools rather than waiting for this rule.

Check: No incident depends on a rule evaluator that is not available.

Configuration examples

The dashboard stores the rule definition for later editing. It does not run the rule or generate recommendations.

  • Save a proposed repeat-offender review condition.
  • Edit a stored condition without applying an action.
  • Disable a configuration that should not be used in the future.

What Automation Rules can do now

Current feature status
OperationAvailability
Create, edit, and save rulesAvailable to authorized staff when the feature is enabled.
Enable or disable a rule configurationSaves the selected setting; it does not start live evaluation.
Evaluate Discord events or generate recommendationsNot available yet.
Automatically warn, mute, jail, or ban membersNot supported.

Live event evaluation is unavailable

No active rule evaluator is confirmed. A rule marked enabled remains a saved configuration, not an alert, recommendation, or automatic action. Do not rely on it for moderation coverage.

Resolve a missing or inaccessible rule

The result is not what you expected

What you see: A saved rule is missing or cannot be changed.

What may be happening: The selected server, feature access, or management permissions may not allow the operation.

What to do

  1. Check the selected server and your access.
  2. Refresh the saved rules list.
  3. Ask a server administrator to review permissions.
  4. Use the regular moderation tools for live incidents.

Share the saved configuration with authorized administrators, not as a live alert or completed moderation action.

Current status: configuration only

Do not rely on Automation Rules for alerts or enforcement until live evaluation is available and verified.
